“Upon Further Inspection” – Texas Realtor Magazine Article
What you don’t know about home inspectors
Upon further inspection, you would find that I enjoy reading, writing, working online, web design, social media, SEO consulting and, raising Texas Longhorn Cattle. An odd and somewhat unrelated range of subjects I know. On the subject of writing, I was asked by Texas Realtor Magazine to right an article about some of the ways in which home inspectors and real estate agents are alike. So I did. And, I hope you will take the time to read my printed article in the Texas Realtor Magazine or the Online PDF Version.

You are kicking it good here David. Sharing such important information makes you one of my trusted resources. Thanks for your posts
Good article, David, I think I saw it on Facebook but I am glad to see you in the Rain too.
Great PR David! Congratulations on your article!
David Selman (Selman Home Inspections): Good article, David. At first, I saw page 33, and I got nervous. Then I realized that YOUR story BEGAN on page 33. (Actually, it was 32, but my Adobe was acting strangely.)
Here's a question...Within your article, you mention that real estate agents SHOULD attend, at least, part of the home inspection. About what percentage of them actually do?
Chris, in my experience less than 10 percent of agents attend the home inspection. Out of all of the agents who refer me to their clients, only 2 regularly attend the home inspection.
LESS than 10 Percent? I'm not an agent, but....WOW!
As for the agents that know your work, I can probably make a case for them. There isn't any need to "assist" you with the inspection. However, I agree with you that it might make the clients they represent feel much better.
Thanks for your feedback, David.
